Description

A symposium with Ricardo Dominguez & Amy Carroll, Teddy Cruz, Helga Tawil Souri, Laila el Haddad & Mushon Zer-Aviv.

Radars and Fences 2010 will explore the production of the Israel/Palestine and Mexico/US borders, examining how they engage affects, bodies, and spatial scales. Despite their seemingly confounding specificities, it is our intention to open up a dialogue between these borders in order to enable new terms of practical and political engagement. By bringing this plurality of perspectives into dialogue around the themes of affect and space, we hope to reinvigorate critical analysis of the border in all of its (im)materialities and locations.

אנחנו יוצאים לטיול אופניים ביום שבת – ה-12 בספטמבר ב-16:30.

נפגש בגשר של מתחם נחושתן (בנווה צדק) ומשם נרד על פינס לעבר מסעדת רוטס שבעזה, נמשיך לבית של אבו-מאזן ומשם אולי לכפר האמנים העזתי בנחלת בנימין, לאוניברסיטה האיסלמית בשנקין, לבניין UNRWA ברוטשילד והלאה משם למגוון אטרקציות תיירותיות בעזה / תל אביב.

תבואו, תזמינו חברים, זה הולך להיות הדבר החם ביותר ברצועה מאז ההתנתקות. אגב, אופנועים, רולר בליידס סקייטבורדים או סתם הליכה יעבדו גם, הרעיון הוא לחוות את עזה ביחד ואולי גם לפגוש חברים באחה”צ נעים של תחילת הסתיו.

You Are Not Here מנסה לחשוף את הניגודים וההקבלות בין שתי ערים בנסיון להתעלות מעבר לתקשורת ההמונים אשר עושה רושם כי אבדה לחלוטין את קנה המידה האנושי. ההליכה הופכת למדיום דרכו ניתן לשוחח, להגיב ולהחליף דיעות בנושאים הנוגעים בשתי הערים. על אף קרבתן הגיאוגרפית, עזה ותל אביב מנותקות רגשית, בכוונתנו להתיחס לעניין דרך YANH ואולי אף להציע חוויה עירונית משולבת.

בפרויקט הקודם שלנו שהציע טיול בבגדד דרך רחובות ניו יורק הדגשנו את האבסורד שבמדריך טיולים אמריקאי זר ולא שייך. הפעם היה חשוב לנו לתת קול אותנטי שיעשה שימוש כן וינכיח את מציאות היומיום העזתית בתוך רחובות תל אביב. הפניה ללילא אל-חדד הגיעה אחרי שנחשפנו אל הבלוג המרגש שלה ‘לגדל את יוסוף, אנפלאגד: יומנים של אמא פלסטינאית’ (Gazamom.com). לשמחתנו לילא התחברה מיד לרעיון ודרכה התאפשר לנו ולכם הביקור היחודי הזה בעזה.

We were invited by the Global Alien art collective to participate and speak in their third exhibition titled ‘Congress of Cultures’ in the Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, Mariannenplatz 2, 10997 Berlin/Germany.

YANH at Artivistic, Montreal

Mushon from You Are Not Here will give a talk at this year’s Artivistic festival. The theme of the festival is Un.Occupied Spaces. The talk would cover the experience of the ‘Tour of Baghdad through the streets of New York’ and the ‘Tour of Gaza through the streets of Tel Aviv’ and will discuss the project’s future.

The talk will take place on Oct 25th between 12:30-14:00 in Montrealat 5455 av. de Gaspé (room 701) in the Mile-End neighborhood.
